Nicole Barden is the Director of Membership and Organizing at NCRC. Nicole’s passion for organizing began as a campus organizer at Spelman College, where she organized around issues related to race, class, and gender. More recently, Nicole has organizing experience with both Public Citizen in their campaign to reduce money’s influence on the electoral and legislative process and Organizing for America’s re-election campaign for President Obama. Currently at NCRC, Nicole is responsible for leading the activities of the Membership and Organizing Department to ensure successfully run community reinvestment campaigns, strong policy advocacy efforts, and thorough research into various policy issues related to increasing access to capital and credit for under-served areas and populations. She has a Masters degree in Public Policy (MPP) from the University of California-Berkeley. She was also the co-salutatorian at Spelman College, where she did her undergraduate degree in English.
