Melodi Coney Morrissette is the Community Relations Executive for BBVA Compass - East Region which includes Alabama and Florida. She is supported by a field team of Community Relations Officers all charged with managing Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance, Volunteerism, Community Giving and creating and managing community development partnerships within designated assessment areas. Morrissette monitors market level compliance with Community Reinvestment Act guidelines and goals and works with local market executives to develop strategies to address CRA deficiencies. She reports to J. Reymundo Ocañas, director of Corporate Responsibility and Reputation and Community Reinvestment Act Officer for BBVA Compass.
Prior to joining Corporate Responsibility & Reputation, Melodi was the Director of Supply Chain Management for the bank where she transformed a tactical Procurement organization to a center-led strategic organization focused on cost, quality, innovation, supplier risk mitigation, and supplier diversity.
Previously, Melodi was Enterprise Category Leader for Florida Power & Light, and Regional Purchasing Manager for GAF Materials Corporation. She began her professional career with International Paper in Logistics & Procurement.
Morrissette is a board member of the Alabama Asset Building Coalition, Building Alabama Reinvestment Community Council, and also obtained the Corporate Citizenship Management certification from Boston College; Previous member of the Supplier Diversity Financial Services Roundtable, Institute for Supply Management, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Birmingham where she developed career programs for disenfranchised youth and teenagers and also taught abused youth lifesaving survival skills.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida A & M University. Morrissette is also Certified Purchasing Manager from the Institute of Supply Management.
