Lynne McCormack joined Local Initiative Support Corporation in October of 2015 as the director of creative placemaking for national programs. LISC provides grants, loans, equity and technical assistance to community-based organizations across the United States. The creative placemaking program is focused on empowering residents, CDFI’s, artists, culture bearers and designers to create equitable solutions for social, economic and physical challenges in disinvested neighborhoods. Prior to joining LISC Ms. McCormack served as the director of art, culture + tourism for the City of Providence, RI where she transitioned the office from a traditional arts service organization to a community development agency. This included partnerships with the planning department, workforce development, transit authority and parks departments. Ms. McCormack earned her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design lives in Providence, RI.
